Why team performance problems are hard to solve
Most team interventions focus on what teams do, like their behaviours, outputs, and processes. But high performance is shaped by forces you cannot see in a dashboard or a meeting such as the trust in the room, the pressure people are carrying, the way leadership quietly sets the emotional tone.
When those forces are invisible, interventions often address the symptom rather than the cause. Teams attend a workshop, feel energised for a week, and then drift back. The underlying dynamic is unchanged because it was never named. ATP was built by the Zeal team to change that.
Rather than measuring teams only at the surface, ATP reveals three interconnected layers that together explain how a team truly functions and where development effort will actually land.
